Privacy, in plain language.
What annotated stores
Your OAuth identity, the clips and commentary you publish, follows, comments, and claims you file. Audio commentary is stored only after you choose to publish it.
What the extension sees
The extension reads the active page only when you invoke it, plus the text you explicitly select. It does not collect or retain browsing history. Page metadata is sent only when you stage or publish a clip.
What stays public
Annotations, profiles, follows, and comments are public by design. Every clip retains a prominent link to its original source.
Deletion and claims
Authors can remove annotations. Rights holders can file a claim without an account; claims are reviewed within 48 hours.
